Provide leadership to IUC by advocating for higher education, particularly for Ohio's 14 public universities, to state government, business, and the general public; Bring innovative ideas to the University Presidents to assist in creating a focused agenda for higher education; Collaborate with other educational organizations (including the Ohio Board of Regents, the Higher Education Leadership Council, the association for two year colleges, the association for independent colleges, and the superintendent and Board of Education); manages an office responsible for facilitating collaboration and communication among senior officers of Ohio's public universities.

Required qualifications: Bachelor’s degree.

Desired qualifications: Master’s degree; at least fifteen years of executive-level experience in state government and/or government relations, ideally in Ohio; demonstrated experience with board governance, strategic planning, financial planning, and operational execution; deep knowledge of the policymaking process, especially at the state level in Ohio; strong record of organizational development to ensure that team member roles are held accountable to clearly defined roles in furtherance of the mission; working knowledge of higher education preferred; other leadership experience that includes access to key legislative decision makers will be considered.

By the start of employment, all newly hired employees must receive at least the first dose of a two-dose series or a single dose of a one-dose series COVID-19 vaccination. Individuals who choose a two-dose series vaccination must receive the second dose within 45 days of their start date. Proof of vaccination will be required at time of hire.

Candidates may request a medical or religious exemption from the vaccination requirement. Campus employees may also request an exemption for personal reasons. Ohio State Wexner Medical Center, College of Medicine or OSUP Employees are not eligible for personal exemptions.
